A small finish on May's AOH but that was it.....!

Did she, didn't she.....?  Nope, didn't quite meet the goal of finishing all three but May IS a finish so will "earn" me stash money in April's SFS!

Next month......which here in the Eastern time zone begins in just over 39 minutes.......I need to make weekly goals....save me stitching like a demented woman for the last few days of the month....!

A lovely giveaway, DJ, but please don't enter me.......I have so much stashed away that loudly cry to be stitched!  Good luck to everyone!

Meari's Japanese Garden Update

Haven't worked on this since May 2014. Over the weekend, I had a "mini" finish.  I finished the lower left corner ornament.

A Stitcher's Resolution

Here is my progress on my "new" SAL piece...A Stitcher's Resolution from Heartstring Samplery.

You may remember that I posted a pic the other day Where is the border, you say? Well, when I pulled out my project bag, the thread I was using for the border was missing. I found another similar thread, pulled out what I had stitched and started over. I got a little ways and then realized that the color was really all wrong. I had substituted two colors because I didn't have either of them, but this was so far off  I just knew I couldn't continue on.

So I ordered the two colors from 123Stitch last night, pulled out the border for the second time and just stitched some areas with the colors I did have (the correct ones...I had 4 of the 6 called for). I hope the other threads come before the end of the week because I would really like to take this piece with me on vacation. We'll see. If not, I have two others standing by!

I know you've all being waiting with baited breath.......did she meet her goals on Anniversaries of the Heart...... ?

In two days time all will be revealed........

Julie's progress on The Token and Dragonfly

Well it's late Sunday night, so time to post my updates.  I've been working on the bottom right medallion for the Token:

Sorry got a bit creased in my scanner. This is the lowest part of the pattern so I am NEARLY there!!

Having fun also with the Dragonfly as you can see, its nearly all done except for the antenna and legs in Whisper and then the beading, will really come alive then!!

That's all for now!!

March update

Well lets so what I have been up to.. I'll admit not much on my two Get it Done pieces as I was finishing off a present so was concentrating on that which thankfully is all nicely finished and framed and ready to take down to Wales with us when we are attending a family wedding.

So for my chatelaine, I have another house finished so am now on to the last two - the end of Part 5 is in sight

As for my Derwentwater design I got it back out last week and got a few more stitches in so happy with that

Got One Done!

I'm so excited to share with you that I finished one of my projects!  I'm thrilled!  It didn't take nearly as long as I thought it would...so here's the final project!

This is Bent Creek's The Red Thread.  It's stitched on 32 ct over two and is approximately 36 inches long.  Whew...I think I decided to find some foam core and pin it, and display it somewhere.  Maybe when I'm rich and famous I'll get it framed.  Not the best pictures, but hopefully you can see them okay!

I hope you all are enjoying a little warmer weather wherever you are, and that spring will be arriving any day now!

Change of plans....

Well I realized that since $15.00 isn't a lot of money, especially with postage so high, that I'm going to allow you to choose a chart no more than $15.00 and I will ship it to you as the prize.  Maybe that will give you more incentive.  And Lynda, I'm so sorry about your mistake, I'll be adding your name twice just to cheer you up!  Any other takers?  Remember to post before the end of the month!  Good luck!!

What a mistake!

I am great at losing things....well, putting things in safe places and then forgetting where those safe places are. And I do my fair share of frogging. But this time I have really done it.

The piece I have been working on...Quaker Christmas II...was coming along nicely. I had finished page one, and was trying to decide whether to continue across or down the design. That's when I finally looked closely and realized what a big mistake I had made. This is a companion piece to Quaker Christmas, and I just assumed that the dimensions would be the same, wider than longer. Well, you can see where I am going here. I was very very wrong. This piece is longer, rather than wider. My fabric is big enough, just going the wrong way! I just about cried. The only thing I can do now is rip out all my stitching and start over, but I just don't have it in me right now.

So, I have decided to pick up a different piece for this SAL. On January 1, I barely started A Stitcher's Resolution from Heartstring Samplery. This is the piece I will be working on from now on until it is finished. Here is what it looked like on that first day (I haven't stitched on it since). I am hoping to get some more stitches in this weekend.

Onward and forward and all that....always read your patterns carefully before starting a project. Never assume. I know I never will again!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

We Interrupt this Get It Done Project...

Oh dear.  I got sidetracked from my Nativity for the last couple of weeks.  First by a sore neck and shoulders and then by the gift of Lizzie Kate's Spring Alphabet chart from Linda that I just HAD to start!  Here's my pitiful progress since the end of February...

Before...

After...  only a little bit more of the cow!  {Hanging my head in shame)
I'll do better next month... promise!! : )

Are you ready for another GiveAway?

Hello Fellow Get It Doners!

How are doing on our projects this month?  Since this is the first SAL I've hosted, I thought it might be fun to have incentives periodically.  I've been wracking my brain trying to figure out different things to offer.  I am afraid I'm short on ideas.  So...if anyone has an idea they would like to share, I'm open!

For this one, though, I thought it would be fun to give a $15.00 gift certificate to an online store of your choice.  If you live overseas, I can arrange something different as I realize it's not a lot of money.  So...here are the "rules".  You have until March 31st to post progress pictures.  I'd like to see before and after pictures of your chosen projects.  In the title of the post, please note GID entry, so it will be easy for me to find.  I will then use a random number generator and pick the winner.  Everybody ready?  Get set.... GO!!

Marching along...

So, my fellow "Get it Doners"...How are we doing this month?  I think I'm keeping on track so far, and actually have hit all my goals for this month.  I'm going to keep charging along, though.  I've had a little more time on my hands this month, but I think that will be changing soon.  So...I have before and after so you can see my progress on Aurora Cabin.  This is a Dimensions kit...and I have to tell you, it's been quite a challenge for me.   The farther I go the more challenging.  I think I will need encouragement to finish this by the end of the year.

Before..

And After...

I'm also working on The Red Thread.  I have passed the halfway mark...woo hoo!!  I had thought this one would take the longest, but so far it's been the fastest to stitch.  I will be sad to see this one end, as I've really enjoyed stitching on this one!

How is everyone else doing on meeting their goals?

Julie's photos at last!!

LongDogs The Token pre 2015

LonDogs The Token March 2015

Nora Corbett's Emerald Dragonfly
Here at last are some photos from me. The Token is on white Cashel one-over-one using good old DMC 498 and I love doing it. It and the Dragonfly were put away for a couple of years, now they have re-surfaced and growing. The Dragonfly photo is a pre-2015 photo, I am loving adding the Kreinik metallics, it is coming alive. I also have a companion dragonfly chart but will try and finish some things before I start yet another project.

I am also trying to be good and finish a target of one thing a month. So far I have completed a bookmark and a small Christmas decoration. Are you like me having lots and lots of started pieces?? Hope I'm not alone.

Snowman and Friends Christmas Stocking-Gold Collection Kit

This is one of my WIP that I am having problems stitching it. It is almost all half stitches and it just is going very slow, but will continue stitching on it until I finish it. I am sure everyone has or has had a piece that it is just not going fast for them. I have it in my rotation, so do stitch a few stitches on it a couple of times a month. I do plan to finish it.

just checking in

I didn't get too much done on this this month, but every little stitch gets us closer to the finish, right?
Here is what Quaker Christmas II looks like today...page one is finished.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone else's progress!

It's Time to Switch

I got a good amount done on Chocolate Chocolate & More Chocolate in February but now it is time to switch to my March project Midieval Shelf. It is another Spangler that I am stitching for my SIL.

I'm hoping to get a lot more stitching done in March because as of Feb 27 I am officially RETIRED.

 Starting point for Midieval Shelf.

February/March Update

Well, February went by fast, didn't it? With it being only 28 days long, I feel like I got shorted out of working on this project for an entire month. For February, I was working on Victoria Sampler's "Count Your Blessings". This is where I was at the beginning of the month:

And this is how far along I got by the end of the month. Think I made pretty good progress, and I really enjoyed working on this project. It is so delicate and "girly". Just makes me feel good. I think it is really a beautiful piece.

But now that a new month is here, it is time to put this project away and pull out the one next in line. For March, I'm going to be working on a different Victoria Sampler piece called "Happy Hearts". I don't feel like this one is as "girly", but I love the pastel colors Thea has used. Here is what it looks like currently - we'll see how far along I get by the end of March. I'm hoping I can get the last two panels done. Wish me luck!
